The babysitter of Henri Burrell, Gerinio’s stepson, is accused of perjury

The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police charged him with perjury Thena FerreiraThe boy’s nanny henri Burrell, He was killed in 2021 when he was 4 years old. According to investigations, the child was tortured by his stepfather, former advisor Dr. Gerinho, with the knowledge of the child’s mother, Monique Medeiros.

Thena was the target of an investigation conducted to investigate inconsistencies and omissions in two statements she made during the inquest into Henry’s death.

At the first hearing, as a witness, the nanny stated that she had never witnessed any violence committed by Gerinho and denied that she had noticed injuries or abnormal behavior in the boy.

Later, in a new statement, Thena retracted her statements. She spontaneously went to the police station and admitted to lying in her previous statements. The nanny said Monique and other people associated with Gerinho, including his lawyer, advised her to deny the attacks and omit facts they witnessed.

Thena reported to the police in great detail at least three incidents of physical assault by Gerinho against Henry. He also admitted to seeing bruises on the child’s body.

In court, the nanny stated that she did not witness the attacks and maintained that her suspicions were the result of “psychological manipulation” by Monique. He also said, contradictoryly, that he did not remember several conversations he had with Henry’s mother via the messaging app.

As for the civilian police, although her second statement was upheld in court, Thena “sought to unpack the content of her statement, saying that she felt coerced by the police at the time and that she had been misled.”

The final report, obtained by the article, notes that “such discrepancies reveal a deliberate distortion of the truth, with a clear intent to favor the persons being prosecuted in the main case.”

“By significantly altering her report in court – denying what she voluntarily admitted in detail in the second statement – the investigated woman made false statements and denied facts known to be true, in a way that harmed the search for the real truth and misled the court as to the dynamics of events.”

The files have already been sent to the Public Prosecution. The police suggested that the agency file a complaint against the nanny.

By the way, a few days ago, the court scheduled the People’s Jury for Jairinho and Monique to be held in March next year. They are accused of double murder, attempting to obstruct investigations, and threatening witnesses.
