The drafts of the municipal budget for 2026 and the tax fiscal decree were sent yesterday in the Finance Committee of the Deliberative Council, with the support of the UCR bloc, so both opinions received five signatures.
In addition, next year’s budgets have been sent to the municipal tourism body (Ematur), the regional market and the former municipal bank entity.
With this support, initiatives that have not been subject to fundamental amendments, except for formal correction, will receive 15 supportive votes in the Council. This is a sufficient number for approval, because both the budget and the tax law require a simple majority for approval, i.e. 13 votes.
Yesterday, the Finance Committee, headed by Peronist Michaela Maggio, met to discuss the files issued by the Executive Department, after a special session held by the Authority to honor prominent citizens and organizations in the city.
During the secret meeting, no requests for amendments were made, although the PRO-JxC bloc questioned estimates of next year’s inflation expectations by Julio Alack’s government, which are around 30 percent.
At the same time, the PRO Vecinal body warned of increases in the so-called “monotase” paid by 3% of local companies, which fell in favor of the lowest category, although it rose in the higher categories of that tax.
From the La Libertad Avanza (LLA) bloc, requests for information were submitted and the overall increase in the planned increase for all municipal rates, which would be about 30 percent, was criticized.
Therefore, the majority of correspondence supporting the initiatives was issued with the signatures of members of the Union for the Homeland (UP) bloc and the UCR bloc. Although the two PRO blocs were not signed, this does not mean that there was no accompaniment in the room on the day of the vote.
Meanwhile, the “Asap New Generation” monobloc is not a member of the Finance Committee, so it was not known yesterday whether Chancellor Melanie Horomadiuk already has a fixed position.
The idea of the ruling party is to discuss these initiatives at the headquarters next Thursday, the 27th, in conjunction with the creation of the Cemetery entity, which took office on Wednesday, and the two projects to reform the urban planning code and the public transportation document.
As reported by EL DIA, the city’s mayor, Julio Alaque, sent to the council a draft budget for next year estimated at 462 billion pesos, an increase of 30 percent.
