BYD has found a gold mine of hybrid cars. Realizing that electric cars are not progressing at the expected pace in Europe and that they need to boost sales on the continent, the DM-i, its already existing line of hybrid cars, seems the best option to expand the customer base.
The latest launch is the BYD Atto 2 DM-i, the plug-in hybrid version of a model that had until then been sold only as an electric model. One of its main credentials remains the same: autonomy of more than 1,000 kilometres.

In just over two years, BYD has gone from launching three flashy electric vehicles to today, having nine models in its line, that have been completely redefined. From an exclusive focus on electric vehicles to a strong presence of hybrid vehicles; From investing in more premium cars to choosing to enter the market at affordable prices.
The BYD Atto 2 DM-i will be one of the bets that best represents this trend. In the plug-in hybrid version, aesthetic changes are minimal. The company talked about a larger front grille and some minor changes, such as the absence of side grilles on the fenders and a new logo on the trunk lid. This DM-i version will have the exclusive “Midnight Blue” color.
