The tension between the Argentine Football Association and the fans of Argentine clubs does not subside, in light of the conflict with Estudiantes. Fans and teammates accuse the captains of being “dry-necked” after exchanging statements of support for Claudio Tapia and Tovigino.
In the official statements from the various promotion clubs that were circulated yesterday afternoon, the same spirit of defense prevailed for Tapia and his management: “We express our support for the current leadership of the Argentine Football Association, headed by its president Claudio “Cheque” Tapia, in the face of media attacks that seek to discredit the work that has been accomplished during these years.”
From the Mendoza Football League via Racing de Córdoba, Quilmes, San Telmo, Atalanta, Nueva Chicago, Colegiales, Deportivo Madryn and Defensores de Belgrano, among others, have joined these actions.
Given this, several sectors of members and fans of the respective institutions led statements against them and accused them of being “dry-necked”: “From Ferro en el Espacio, we reject the official statement issued by the club, because we believe that it does not correspond to the will and feelings of the majority of affiliates and fans. We are sorry to see how those who represent us give priority to other interests, and join to defend those who, from power, have been robbing us for many years. Ferro belongs to the members, the AFC.” also.”
This section of Union fans wrote: “Paso a Paso Tatengui reaffirms its rejection of President Claudio “Cheque” Tapia and all the Sica Nocas clubs that seek to promote corruption in Argentine football. We celebrate the attacks on the democratically elected Executive Committee in a very “transparent” election of 38 to 38 votes.”
And so, as the hours pass, new denials are added. The anger of Argentine football fans and partners escalated to the point that during the match between Lanus and Tigre in the quarter-finals of the Clausura tournament they sang against Tapia, as well as at Andres Calamaro’s concert at the Movistar Arena.

The residents of Lanús sang against Czech Tapia.
In the same place where they placed the flag for him.
Do not be confused, the matter is not against the clubs, nor against their fans. This is against the leaders. Because clubs today do not belong to the members, but to the leaders. pic.twitter.com/CeFTZ7Ydfn
