The lawsuit was filed by Alverde’s manager after a post by the striker refuting the agent’s statement, which stated that the player left Verdão through the back door after comparing him to Rooney, another former São Paulo player, who also negotiated contracts.
“Ron is leaving through the front door. Dodo is leaving through the back door,” the agent stated at the time.

The refusal decision was made by Judge Luis Augusto Barreto Fonseca, who interpreted the situation as mutual provocation and without the degree of aggression necessary for criminal intervention.
“The crimes, which are uttered in response and heated debate, are minimized in the digital and sporting environment, and do not present the degree of aggression necessary for criminal intervention.”

Understand the issue
- Striker Dodo, at the time in Cruzeiro, reacted on social media after criticism from the president of Palmeiras, Leila Pereira, who stated that the player left the Sao Paulo team through the “back door.” The athlete refuted the statement of the Palmeiras leader in a post on Instagram, and took the opportunity to direct insults at the president of Verdão.
- “The truck was heavy and they asked me to get out the back doors!!! (sic),” the striker wrote on Instagram Stories, using a photo of himself next to the trophies he won for Palmeiras.
- “My story was huge, honest, and different from yours, Ms. Leila Pereira,” highlighted Dodo, referring to the profile of the Palmeiras president in the post. “Forget me. VTNC,” the player concluded.
- Dodo’s offensive post refers to Leila Pereira’s statements over the weekend, in an interview during the event announcing Palmeiras’ new main sponsor.
- The club president at the time ruled out comparisons between Rooney and Dodo’s situation when asked whether the two cases were similar.
- “It’s a completely different situation,” Leila Pereira said. “We were very clear with Rooney, but if he prefers to stay at Palmeiras, he is an athlete at the club,” the president said.
- Then she stabbed Dodo. “Ron will leave through the front door. Dodo will leave through the back door,” he said.
- He added: “In the middle of the year, when I said that the end of his course was about to end, I was right. We waited until the end of the year for the athlete to leave without Palmeiras getting anything at all, causing a loss of millions.”
