
The driver who ran over the cyclist on Sunday night (11/23) is Carlos Habib Chater Filho. He reported to the Civil Police of the Federal District (PCDF) that the cyclist was going in the wrong direction when he ended up being hit by the car.
Carlos is the son of Carlos Habib Chater, who has been identified as one of the central figures in the Operation Lava Jato plot. Carlos’s father was the owner of Posto da Torre, where bribes were paid between political contractors and Petrobras managers.
Investigator Lava Gato’s son detailed for PCDF the dynamics of the accident that led to the athlete’s death. According to Carlos, he was going to leave his girlfriend at home on QL 32.
During the flight, on QL 26, Carlos was driving in the left lane at low speed due to low visibility due to heavy rain at the time.
