The French Court of Cassation upheld the conviction of former President Nicolas Sarkozy To benefit from illegal financing during his 2012 election campaignIt is a different case from the one that landed him in prison this year.

Sarkozy, 70, was convicted on appeal On February 14, 2024, he was sentenced to 12 months in prison, including a mandatory six months, on charges of benefiting from illegal political financing as a candidate for re-election.
