The government faces a major budget plenary session amid expectations of abalos

Madrid, November 27 (EFE).- On Thursday in the Chamber of Deputies, the government faces a major plenary session for the 2026 budgets when voting on the stabilization path, which is expected not to go ahead, and with attention focused on former Socialist Minister José Luis Albalos for his possible imprisonment in the Koldo case.

The stabilization path for the period 2026-2028 is the previous step for the preparation of next year’s budgets, but everything indicates that it will be rejected by the votes of PP, Vox and Junts, and to this will be added the abstention of Podemos.

The government confirmed that it will negotiate the path to stability until the end, although it is preparing for a possible parliamentary defeat in a plenary session in which there will be other votes with better expectations, such as the approval of the royal decree law on urgent measures to confront the damage caused by Al-Dana.

This plenary session, which will be the penultimate one for the year, coincides with a hearing in the Supreme Court to decide whether former Socialist Minister José Luis Abalos and his former advisor Koldo García will enter pretrial detention in the Koldo case.

Abalos, who currently serves as a representative of the mixed group, will be suspended from his parliamentary duties and powers if he goes to prison, but he will not lose his record in Congress. Evie
