The Ministry of Labor confirms that the site’s failure to assess the occupational risks of domestic workers is due to a “malicious attack.” This is what Yolanda Díaz’s management indicated in a statement sent to the media: “Important information about the Prevencion10.es application to assess the prevention of occupational risks for domestic workers: The application suffered a service interruption that was initially determined to be an overload due to a large influx of users and which we finally confirmed to be a malicious attack. We are working to restore it as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.”
According to ministry sources, a series of… Robots The “mechanism” had “artificially” overloaded the platform, resulting in a large number of requests being sent. The sources themselves do not specify the volume of requests nor their source. No complaint has been filed with police authorities at this time.
On Friday, November 14, it was six months since Trabajo launched the website prevencion10.es. This tool is a “free and open access prevention tool” that, as the Ministry explained in its launch, “allows employers to comply with their new legal obligations.” That is, on this website, people who employ domestic workers can complete a self-assessment of occupational risks in their homes. Once a full semester has passed since the launch of the site, what is thought in terms of prevention will be required by employers of domestic workers.
Failure to conduct a self-assessment or failure to inform domestic workers of the preventive measures adopted may be classified as a serious violation. The highest penalty included in the legislation with this consideration is a maximum of €49,180. Yolanda Díaz’s department stresses that these types of penalties will only be imposed in the event of aggravating circumstances. Without it, in most cases, non-compliance will be considered minor and the penalty will be a maximum of €2,450.
