
The latest poll by the Parana Pescisas Institute, released on Tuesday (11/11), indicates that a majority of Brazilians disapprove of the government of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
According to the poll, 50.9% of those interviewed said that they do not agree with the way the Labor Party member is leading the country, while 45.9% said that they agree with that. And 3.2% did not know or chose not to answer.
When evaluating the government’s performance, 43.3% rated the administration as bad or very bad, 9.0% as bad, and 34.3% as very bad. 32.1% consider the government excellent or good (11.7% excellent and 20.4% good), and 23.2% rate it as normal.
Only 1.4% of participants knew or preferred not to express their opinions.
Approval and rejection by region
The survey also shows differences between Brazil’s regions. The northeast is considered the stronghold of greatest support for the president: 57.3% of those interviewed approve of the government, compared to 38.2% who disapprove.
In the Southeast, the region with the largest population, 44.3% approve and 53.3% disapprove. In the northern and central-western regions, the percentage of rejection was higher: 54.9%, compared to 41.1% approval. As for the south, it is the place where Lula faces the worst performance, where the disapproval rate reached 63.8% and approval was only 34.1%.

The survey was conducted between November 6 and 10 and interviewed 2,020 people ages 16 and older in 26 states across the country. The margin of error is 2.2 percentage points, and the confidence level is 95%.

In the northeast, with 557 interviews, the index rises to 4.2 points. In the North and Midwest regions, with 319 interviews, the margin is 5.6 percentage points, while in the South, where 293 people were interviewed, the estimated error is 5.8 percentage points.
