The man identified as Antonio Bezerra de Souza Jr., 33, who kidnapped the 18-year-old nursing student, had another plan: to kill her aunt, a woman he had been in a relationship with for a while.
The crime occurred on Thursday (11/13) in Jaguaribe (CE). Fernanda Silva Melo, the young woman who was kidnapped, lived hours of terror.

After nearly 24 hours of intense search, the kidnapper surrendered on Friday afternoon (14/11) during a joint operation carried out by the Civil Police, Military Police and Ciopaer.
The young woman was rescued alive and handed over to her family without being seriously injured. While escaping, Antonio exchanged gunfire with police and hid in the woods until he was surrounded.

Kidnapping details:
- Antonio, who was armed, broke into the beauty clinic of his ex-girlfriend’s sister with the intention of killing her.
- Since his former partner was not there, he kidnapped Fernanda.
- The young woman was taken to an area with dense vegetation in the countryside.
- During the kidnapping, the criminal asked his former partner to come to him to release his niece, which amounts to blackmail.
He already had a criminal record, including premeditated murder. Antonio is arrested and charged with extortion by kidnapping.
The civilian police did not provide details about the negotiations that led to the surrender, but confirmed the safety of the victim.
