While criminal justice in La Plata is moving towards the perpetrators of the murder of a 22-year-old named Augustin Gonzalez, who was attacked early Monday morning in the El Curasco neighborhood of Tolosa, reliable sources have confirmed to this newspaper that the death occurred due to hypovolemic shock caused by the passage of a firearm projectile into the skull.
There is no doubt that the mechanisms of killing, which were reflected in the forensic report, were a sign of the ferocity of the criminals, who executed the victim without the possibility of resisting, calling for help, or escaping.
He was also hit by another bullet that hit him in the spine from back to front, and from bottom to top, according to the same spokesmen.
According to what informants revealed, the matter began after 11:30 p.m. Sunday, when neighbors called 911 to report an injured boy in the street.
A police car tried to approach, but was forced to retreat due to the hostility of the place: an agitated crowd threw objects and bottles at the police officers, forcing them to retreat and call for backup.
Minutes later, the hospital announced the admission of a young man with a gunshot wound, who died despite attempts to revive him.
His father recognized the victim, who appeared before the police, looking shocked.
The man indicated that his son was in the street that night with his friends, and provided the contact for one of them, a 21-year-old young man, who told the authorities what the minutes before the attack were like.
Based on his testimony, which is already part of the file, he saw Gonzalez at the age of 118 and 521 years old talking with a young man nicknamed “Mullah.”
At that moment, three big motorcyclists appeared. Upon noticing the group’s presence, Al-Mullah ran toward his home, while Gonzalez remained where he was and argued with one of the new arrivals.
In the middle of the verbal exchange, Gonzalez allegedly grabbed a hat with a visor from the motorcyclist, who warned him: “You don’t know who you messed with,” according to data collected by investigators.
So the assailant left, but returned minutes later, always on a motorcycle, this time armed, and fired at least four shots, two of which directly hit Gonzalez.
The young man fell to the ground while the attackers fled at full speed. A neighbor put him in his own car and took him to the hospital, although it was too late: the bullets were fatal.
The case is being handled at the UFI by Álvaro Garganta, who is progressing in taking statements in search of accurate information about the people who participated in the tragic ambush. The pain and, most worryingly, the thirst for revenge lingered in the area of the accident.
