La Plata will celebrate its 143rd anniversary with a free music festival taking place on Wednesday, November 19 in Plaza Moreno, where residents will be able to enjoy a diverse lineup of local and famous artists.
The stage will show El Mato a un Police Motorizado, Cruzando el Charco, Kapanga and Los Besos, four proposals covering different styles and promising to provide multiple atmospheres for the celebrations.
In addition, Los Bicivoladores, Rara and La Retirada Murga will perform as the three local bands that won the La Plata es Música competition promoted by the municipality, which aims to encourage emerging artists from the capital Buenos Aires.
Music Week
The anniversary festival is part of Music Week, a municipal initiative that will take place from Saturday 15 November to 22 November, with an agenda full of cultural and artistic activities at different points of the game.
For eight days, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy performances of tango, folklore, rock, bolero and other genres, which will take place in emblematic places such as the Cathedral, the Hippodrome, Plaza Moreno, the Passaje d’Ardo Rocha Municipal Arts Center, the Meridiano V Playone Provincial Station and the Regional Arts Center Teatro Argentino.
With this set of proposals, the administration of Mayor Julio Alaque seeks to promote cultural participation, encourage local music and provide meeting places for the entire community on such a special date for the provincial capital.
