Father Carlos Augusto da Cruz Silva, 45, was in a family home taking part in the celebration, after his niece’s first Eucharist, when a marquee collapsed and caused a tragedy in the Mata Escora neighborhood, in El Salvador, on Saturday night (11/8).
The accident led to the death of three people and the injury of 10 others, according to information from the Civil Defense of El Salvador (Codesal) and the Civil Police.

In addition to the priest, two women also died: Darcy Anunciaço, 70, and Ana Maria dos Santos, 50. Darcy was rescued, but did not survive her injuries. The other injured people were transferred to health units in the capital. There are no details about their health condition.
