A video recorded by the Sergeant of the Military Police of Goiás, Hebert Bovoa, who was arrested on Friday (28/11), reveals the brutality with which the soldier and former candidate of Hizb ut-Tahrir acted in collecting debts. The pictures show a police officer inside the home of a woman who borrowed money from the gang. He holds a gun while the trapped victim remains sitting on the bed, clearly terrified.
The sergeant slapped the woman in the face several times, repeatedly calling her a “slut” and a “slut.” In one of the most shocking moments in the video, he threatens her that she will “mess with bums”, suggesting that she will “pay dearly” for it.

The desperate woman tries to explain that she has not received any money. When she hears from the police officer that he is taking her cell phone, she begs to keep the device, explaining that she needs it for work. In another clip, the victim asks the sergeant to inspect the home’s closet to prove that he did not even buy the basics for his daughter, stressing that he did not embezzle any money.

The video is part of a body of evidence collected by the civil police in the operation launched there, which arrested six people who are being investigated on charges of loan sharing, extortion and torture through kidnapping. Among the detainees:
- Three military police officers from Louisiana;
- Lawyer Tatianne Meirelles, wife of the group’s leader;
- Two civilians.
The complaint that led to the operation was filed by the Military Police of Goiás itself, which identified the violations and reported them to the relevant authorities.
More hitting
Investigations indicate that the group was operating as an organized criminal organization, using extreme violence to collect debts. In other videos obtained by police, victims are shown bloodied, kneeling and crying as they are beaten with kicks, punches and even baseball bats.
In an audio recording, an as-yet-unidentified attacker says: “Here in Goiás you will learn how this works.” Then he orders: “Get up, stay here until nine in the evening.”
Lawyer Tatianne Meirelles, in addition to providing legal assistance to try to protect the gang, was also directly involved in the attacks. In one recording, she is shown hitting the victim with a baton and shouting orders while the man pleads to stop.
Criminal structure
Upon searching and seizing the officers, the following was found:
- firearms;
- Objects used in attacks;
- About R$10,000 in cash
Civil police say the group is also suspected of money laundering. The detained sergeant was a candidate for the position of chancellor in Luzana for the Liberal Party, the party of former President Jair Bolsonaro, whose image was widely used in election campaign materials.
He presented himself at the time as a defender of morality and the fight against corruption. During the election race, he drove an electric vehicle through the city streets and attacked the mayor and his family, a practice he continued on social media and led to court convictions.
The police officer had spent a long period on leave due to psychological problems and had recently returned to the force, but had not yet done any enforcement work on the streets.
