The Civil Police of Santa Catarina State (PCSC) arrested, on Wednesday (11/19), a 47-year-old teacher, suspected of sexually assaulting a nine-year-old student in the city of Gaspar. When the man’s details were collected, it became clear that he had committed the same crime against a six-year-old student, and that he had previously been convicted of a sexual crime.
The crime could have occurred against the nine-year-old girl on the 12th of this month, when the educational institution in Gaspar recorded the incident, and the police opened an investigation to determine the facts.

According to the civil police, the assault occurred in the classroom, and another friend of the victim witnessed the crime and reported it to the school administration.
During investigations, it emerged that the teacher was already under investigation by the Pomerode Civil Police Station for ill-treatment also committed against a six-year-old student. This crime could have occurred in October of this year.
If that wasn’t enough, it was discovered that the teacher had also been convicted of a sex crime. For this reason, Delegate Felipe Martinez, in charge of the investigation, requested the pretrial detention of the suspect very urgently.
Escape into the forest
Last Monday (17/11), when there was an attempt to execute the arrest warrant, the suspect fled into a forest near his home, in an operation carried out by the Civil Police throughout the morning and the next day, with several police teams and drones to locate him.
After the police saturated the environment, the suspect decided to surrender himself on Wednesday (19), in the presence of his lawyer.
During interrogation, the teacher admitted to the allegations made by the six- and nine-year-old students.
The prisoner was transported to the local prison and remains in custody.
