Calle 22 station on the Caracas line will stop operating next Saturday, November 22. This measure will allow work to continue on the first line of the Bogotá Metro.
To avoid commuting problems, Transmilenio will operate a temporary station, Calle 22, located on the main Caracas thoroughfare, between 22nd and 19th Streets.
This new location will have two cars. It will provide service to the Suba, Calle 80, Caracas Sur, Américas and North Highway lines..
The services that will operate in this space are: 3, 5, 8, C15, D20, H13, H15, A61, B13, F61 and H20.
With the opening of the temporary station Calle 22, there are now four temporary stops available on the Caracas Main Line, a process that will maintain these temporary stops for over a year.
These measures fall within the framework of measures taken to facilitate access to the public transportation system and ensure the mobility of users during the implementation of the works.
The suspension of operations at Calle 22 station responds to the need to move forward with the construction of the first line of the Bogotá Metro, which is already more than 60% complete and is expected to become operational in 2028.
The creation of four temporary stations on the trunk of Caracas responds to the large influx of users in this area of Bogotá who need this means of transportation to reach their places of work and study as well as medical appointments.
“We have achieved detailed work with Metro and our strategic allies to operate these temporary stations, which are key to minimizing the impact on access to service,” said Lucie Cocaita, Troncal Technical Director at Transmilenio.
Users can refer to the routes and timetables in TransMiApp where they can also find this type of announcement.
Teams in the region carry out information days on available mobility alternatives. These sessions seek to guide users on operational changes and travel options during metro works.
