
Three young men, aged 22, 23 and 25, died this morning after they left the road and the car they were traveling in overturned several times on the N-634 highway, in the municipality of Cabezon de la Sal (Cantabria).
As reported by the government delegation in Cantabria, for reasons that are being investigated, at approximately 0:30, the driver lost control of the car and boarded a small island. The car then turned several times until it stopped in the parking lot of a nearby restaurant. The accident occurred at kilometer 244.9 of the N-634 highway, before the Virgen de la Peña Bridge.
The deceased were residents of Cabezon de la Sal, Casar de Peredo and Virgen de la Peña. At the scene of the accident, members of the Civil Guard Traffic Sector, paramedics from 061, and also from Regional Firefighters 112 intervened, who had to free the young man who was in the back of the car.
The President of Cantabria, Maria José Saenz de Burruaga, expressed her “dismay” at the “horrific incident” in a message on her website.
