Sami Trabelsi, captain of the Brazilian national team, praises the former Palmeiras player: “There are not many players at this level.”
The Estêvão phenomenon has gained another strong fan following. After receiving praise from Carlo Ancelotti, the young striker impressed the opposition coach. Sami Trabelsi, captain of the Tunisian national team, praised the former Palmeiras player in an exclusive interview with ESPN on Monday (17/11). In fact, the Tunisian coach did not mince his words and labeled the 18-year-old a “new football genius.” Therefore, this announcement heats up the atmosphere of the friendly match between the Brazilian national team and Tunisia, which will be held on Tuesday (11/18) in Lille.
In fact, Trabelsi’s analysis goes beyond mere praise. The coach expected the Chelsea striker to reach the top of world football in a short time.
The Tunisian said: “I think he is doing a very good job and he is a player who is expected to be among the greats in the coming years, and certainly among the best in the world.”
Moreover, he put the Brazilian in the fight for the maximum individual prize:
“If he can perform well or win titles, he will be among the players who, in the coming years, can compete for the Ballon d’Or.”
The coach says Estêvão has technique and genius
The Tunisian leader, who has defended the African national team for many years, justified his strong opinion. According to him, Estevao’s technical level is rare in the current scenario.
“He offers a lot of solutions, a lot of techniques, and a lot of genius,” Trabelsi explained.
He even made sure to highlight how rare the Brazilian’s talent is.
“There are not many players of this level, of this category of genius, on the world stage,” the coach concluded.
The praise undoubtedly reflects the young striker’s amazing form. Since making his debut with the main Brazilian team, in September 2024, the former Palmeiras player has already played 10 matches for Amarileña. He scored four goals during this period. The last one, in fact, was last Saturday (15/11), in a 2-0 win over Senegal, in London. At just 18 years old, the striker has also compiled good numbers in his Chelsea debut, scoring four goals and one assist in 16 appearances for the Blues this season.
