Madrid’s roads have suffered a black week. Unfortunately, when Samur-Civil Protection paramedics arrived at the scene, they could only confirm his death. The Judicial Traffic Unit of the Madrid Municipal Police took over the report and is investigating the circumstances of what happened.
The other road fatality this week was a 55-year-old driver, who died last Saturday after his motorcycle collided with a road maintenance vehicle on the M-23 freeway. The accident occurred at approximately 4:00 a.m. when the motorcyclist was traveling in the lane that at the same moment was closed to traffic, indicated by traffic lights and cones, due to a previous accident on kilometer 1 in the direction of the Madrid exit.
The third victim, a motorcyclist in his 50s, was seriously injured on the M-50 road, at kilometer 30. Samur Civil Protection paramedics went there just after 2:00 p.m. The victim was treated for fractures in his right arm, femur and hip.
Emergency services were able to stabilize the victim, who was lying on his waist, and transported him in serious condition to the October 12 Hospital, according to Madrid Emergency Services.
