A young man tried to attack his former friend in UnB before stabbing him in Embrapa
According to reports, the university student responded by saying that her colleague “couldn’t be there because he is biologically male.” Since then, a heated discussion began that spread to the university square and was witnessed by other students.
“Viadinho” and “Jack”
During the argument, the student allegedly called her classmate a “faggot” and a “jack,” which is slang used to refer to someone as a “rapist.” Feeling insulted, the student called campus security and the Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF) were called in to deal with the incident.
They were taken to the police station for clarification. In his testimony, the nonbinary person stated that he typically uses both men’s and women’s bathrooms, and stated that he feels like a victim of homophobic slurs.
When interrogated, the student admitted that she had prevented her colleague from using the women’s bathroom, and confirmed that she had used offensive language. According to police records, she smiled and laughed when she heard the victim’s name during testimony.
Homophobic slur
The case was framed as a racial slur in the form of a homophobic slur, as understood by the Federal Supreme Court (STF) in the direct action of unconstitutionality by omission (ADO 26). In light of this, the police authority charged the student based on Article 2-A of Law No. 716/89, without him having the right to bail at the police headquarters.
During the trip to the police station, one of the victim’s friends posted a message on social media in which he called the author a “bitch.” He was also accused of insulting.
