Yesterday it was the Serrano empire. This Wednesday (12), it is Unidos de Vila Isabel’s turn to start her street art training, on 28 de Setembro Street, in the neighborhood that gave her her name. It will be held every Wednesday, from 7 pm to 11:30 pm, on November 12 and 26, December 3, 10 and 17, and January 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2026.
On training days, the right lane of 28 de Setembro Street will be closed from 7pm, on the stretch between Rua Duque de Caxias and Rua Luís Barbosa. Vehicles heading to Praça Barão de Drummond must follow Duque de Caxias and Torres Homem streets and then reach Rua Barão de São Francisco.
Visconde de Abaeté, Souza Franco, Major Barros and Silva Pinto streets will be two-way during this period, and parking will be prohibited on the left side of Rua Duque de Caxias, between Boulevard Vinte e Oito de Setembro and Rua Torres Homem.
In 2026, Villa Isabel will present the story “Macumbembê, samborimba: I dreamed that a samba singer dreamed of Africa”, in honor of Maestro Heitor dos Prazeres. The school will be the second carnival on Tuesday.
