Madrid, November 12 (European Press) –
A US House of Representatives committee on Wednesday released a series of emails from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, implicated in a case of alleged sexual abuse of minors, in which he stated that the current occupant of the White House, Donald Trump, “spent hours” with one of the victims.
Democrats on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee uncovered three correspondence between Epstein, his former partner Ghislaine Maxwell, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for advancing a conspiracy with teenage girls who would end up suffering sexual abuse, and columnist and writer Michael Wolff.
In these private exchanges, Epstein said in 2011 that Trump “spent hours” at his home with a sex trafficking victim. In a 2019 email, Epstein explicitly claimed that Trump “knew about the girls.”
“I want you to realize that the dog that did not bark is Trump. (The victim) spent hours with him at my house, and he did not mention it even once (…),” reads the email dated April 2011. “I’ve been thinking about that…,” Maxwell responded.
In another letter, this time in December 2015, Wolf warned him that he understood CNN would “ask Trump tonight about their relationship.” “If we could write him a reply, what do you think it should be?” Epstein responded. And then the journalist said, “I have to let him fall on his own.”
He added: “If he said he wasn’t on the plane or at home, that would give you a valuable advantage in public relations and politics. You could hurt him in a way that would potentially benefit you, or, if he really seemed like he could win, you could bail him out, generating a debt. Of course, it’s possible that, when asked, he would say that Jeffrey is a good guy, that he was treated unfairly, that he’s a victim of political correctness, which would be illegal in the Trump regime.”
Years later, in January 2019, “Trump said he asked me to resign, and I was never a member anymore,” Epstein said in a new email to Wolff. “Of course, he knew about the girls because he told Ghislaine to stop.”
“Damend the president’s reputation”
Following the publication of these documents, White House spokeswoman Carolyn Leavitt said, “Democrats selectively leaked emails to liberal media outlets to create a false narrative to discredit the president,” while she considered that “these stories are nothing more than bad faith attempts to divert attention from the president’s accomplishments.”
She added: “The anonymous victim referred to is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said that Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing and that he ‘couldn’t have been nicer’ to her in their few interactions. The truth is that Trump fired Jeffrey Epstein from his club decades ago for harassing his employees, including Giuffre.”
Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on charges of sexually assaulting and trafficking dozens of girls in the early 2000s. This millionaire, who at one time met figures such as Prince Andrew of England – brother of Charles III – Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, was discovered hanged in his cell.
