The replacement of São Januário Park has begun. The operation is carried out by Greenleaf, the company responsible for Vasco Stadium. The main goal of the change is to remove the mutation that has left the grass deficient in pigment in several areas of the field.
Vasco is aiming to host a potential Brazilian Cup final in São Januario, as revealed by Greenleaf’s coach, in a recent interview with Jogada10. Even as the season was coming to an end, Cruz Maltino decided to change the stadium because the renovation of the stadium was not scheduled to begin yet.
The new grass is expected to be installed within a week. Vasco will face Internacional on November 28. Greenleaf has ensured that the field will be ready and spotless.
