The models topped the votes between premium electric cars and passenger cars with combustion engines in the vote of specialized journalists
The new Volvo EX90 and Audi A5 won the categories for luxury electric models and 100% combustion passenger cars at the Trend Car Awards 2025 Terra Guia do Carro. The Volvo EX90 won the Best Luxury Electric Car of 2025/2026 award, while the Audi A5 won the Best Passenger Car award, which combines hatchbacks and sedans.
Before the Volvo EX90, the class winner was the Blazer EV
The Volvo EX90 thus takes over the title previously attributed to the Chevrolet Blazer EV, which has been optioned for the 2024/2025 model year. Due to the calendar adjustment for the Trend Car Award, the Blazer EV (2025/2026) and EX90 (2024/2025) are considered winners for 2025 – previously the award referred to the subsequent year; Now it’s release year).
Volvo EX90 received 33.3% of nominations, with a total of 8 votes. This was followed by the Zeekr 7X with 25% (6 votes), then the Audi SQ6 e-tron/SQ6 e-tron Sportback with 20.8% (5 votes). The number of valid votes was 24, with two members abstaining from voting.

In the passenger car (ICE) category, the Audi A5 received 64% of nominations, with a total of 16 votes. It was a barrage of votes over other rivals, especially over the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, which is also a premium car. Chevrolet Onix, which defends the honor of popular models, received 12% of the votes. The total dispute amounted to 25 valid votes and one abstention.

The Volvo EX90 and Audi A5 are now eligible to use special, exclusive and unprecedented discounts in the promotional actions of Guia do Carro, as long as they indicate these achievements and in accordance with the publicity plan established for the event.
