The country’s deadliest massive operation
The operation that targeted Doka took place on October 28, in the Benha and Alemao complexes. The official tally was 117 deaths, making the operation the bloodiest in Brazilian history.
Of the dead, 59 people had outstanding arrest warrants, and at least 97 people had a criminal history, according to civilian police. Another 17 had no observations, but 12 showed signs of links to trafficking on social media. Five security personnel – three civilian police officers and two military officers – also died as a result of the confrontation.
In total, 113 people were arrested and 10 teenagers were detained. The teams seized 118 weapons, including 93 rifles, in addition to explosives and a large amount of drugs.
