Roberto Soriano was sentenced to more than 70 years in prison (featured image)51, known as Teresa, has been serving time in the federal prison system since 2012. He is currently detained at Mossoro Federal Prison (RN) and was placed in disciplinary isolation after agents found a sharp chicken bone hidden in his cell.
Soriano was already a member of the First Capital Command (PCC), but was involved in a split with the faction’s top commander, Marco Herbas and Ilian Camacho, known as Marcola.
What made the friendship turn into rivalry was the leak of a recording of a dialogue between Markkula and a Federal Criminal Police officer in the Porto Velho Federal Prison (RO). At the time, Markkula classified Teresa as “mentally ill.”
The statement was used by prosecutors during the trial of Roberto Soriano. The criminal ended up imprisoned for 31 years and 6 months, in 2023, for being the one who ordered the murder of psychologist Melissa de Almeida Araujo.
The murder of the psychiatrist
Melissa Almeida, 37, was working at Catandovas Federal Penitentiary when she was shot and killed on May 25, 2017.
The murder in Cascavel occurred shortly after Melissa picked up her 1-year-old son from school. The victim was shot in the face.
According to federal police investigations, the reason for Melissa’s killing was her status as a public security employee. It is believed the criminals chose her because she was considered a vulnerable target, as she did not carry a firearm.
Soriano was named as the person who ordered the execution. In August 2023, he was sentenced to 31 years and 6 months in prison for the psychiatrist’s death.
Combined, Soriano’s sentences exceed 75 years in prison.
