The husband of criminal police officer Edvania Vieira da Silva, 44 years old, who was arrested on Saturday (11/8) in Cayetes, Pernambuco, is 38-year-old Leonardo Pereira Lima (Featured image), on suspicion of committing the crime. The victim was found murdered in military uniform and next to his bed, at his residence in the municipality of Patos, in Sertão da Paraíba. The body was found on the same day as the suspect’s temporary arrest.

Teams from the Paraíba Military Police and the Civil Police were present at the scene, accompanied by the director of the prison where Edvania worked. The door of the house was open when authorities arrived.
According to his family and colleagues, Edvania had been missing for two days. Initial examinations showed signs of suffocation and bruising, but no puncture wounds.
One detail that caught the police’s attention was the graffiti on the wall of the residence, with the inscription “X9” – possibly relating to someone reporting wrongdoing – and the abbreviation CV, a reference to Comando Vermelho. Authorities are investigating whether the marks were made by Leonardo to simulate an execution and divert the investigation.
In a statement, the Paraiba Prison Administration Secretariat (Seap-PB) expressed its regret over the death of the employee, highlighting her as “dedicated and professional.” Edvânia has been part of the Seap crew since 2012 and is currently stationed at Patos Women’s Prison, the agency reported.
