A 25-year-old woman named Camila Abigail Despo lost her life this morning after a head-on collision between two vehicles on the Camino Rivadavia in the Diquí area. The accident also resulted in four men being injured of varying severity, and a judicial investigation was opened to reconstruct the mechanisms of the accident.
The accident occurred around 6:30 on the section between Line 307 and Industrial Alliance. According to the first official reports, the accident occurred between two Renault Kangoo Vans and a Renault 9; As a result of the collision, the Renault 9 overturned in a ditch and the woman was found inside, and she was identified as dead at the scene. The four occupants of the car were injured and taken to the city hospital.
Volunteer firefighters, SAME personnel and police worked at the scene to assist those injured and carry out scene preservation duties. The victim was declared dead at the scene by the medical team that arrived at the accident. Another passenger in the Renault 9 was found unconscious and was also taken to hospital.
The case was classified as manslaughter and was in charge of the Public Prosecutor’s Office on duty from the Judicial Department of La Plata. Investigators are conducting expert reports at the scene – including examining the two vehicles and scanning security cameras in the area – with the aim of determining the origin of the accident and whether reckless manoeuvres, excessive speed or mechanical failures were recorded.

The road is under construction and its condition poses a significant risk to those traveling through the area. Although human failure is not excluded, it is known that the condition of the artery in some sectors is alarming. The fact is that in addition to the defects they show, such as the countless wells that actually look like pots, the unevenness and the destroyed shoulders, we add the difficulties caused by the constant rebuilding tasks, with diversions and dams.
Upon their arrival at the scene, police officers discovered that the Kangoo was on the asphalt strip, while the Renault 9 had fallen into a ditch after the collision. Inside the car, the couple was unconscious.
Despite the rapid action of Ensenada volunteer firefighters and SAME personnel, they confirmed the young woman’s death at the scene. On the other hand, the other four injured people were transferred to Horacio Sestino Hospital to receive treatment.
