The São Paulo Football Federation (FPF) has scheduled the 2026 Paulista Championship matches, which will be shorter, with 11 scheduled dates, to follow the new calendar of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
Paulistao will have a competition model similar to that of the Champions League. The clubs will face each other within their group and play a further five rounds against opponents from other pots, for a total of eight matches in the first stage.
The eight teams with the best season qualify for the knockout stage, where they are played in a single match. The two worst teams will be relegated to A-2.
