With Wandinha and Sixth Tour attractions, Netflix opens its first fixed-themed region in the US

For the first “Netflix House”, which will be opened on Wednesday (12/11), the American streaming giant has chosen one of the largest shopping centers in the country, in King of Prussia, on the outskirts of Philadelphia (Pennsylvania). The next opening is scheduled to take place in Dallas (Texas) on December 11 and in Las Vegas (Nevada) in 2027.

Admission to the approximately 10,000 square meter space decorated with themes from some of the platform’s most popular productions – such as “Bridgerton”, “Stranger Things”, “Round 6” and “K-Pop Warriors” – will be free.

However, indoor activities – which include mini golf, cinema, restaurant and souvenir shop – will be paid for.

Netflix has been offering this kind of temporary experience for a few years now. So far, about 40 activities have been organized in about 350 cities.

But, given the difficulty of finding places large enough to house them, “it became clear that we would have more flexibility if we had a permanent space,” explained the company’s marketing director, Marian Lee, during a meeting with the press last Monday.

Netflix chose shopping centers in the suburbs of Philadelphia and Dallas, where the activities on offer will change regularly, with the aim of turning them into a “frequent destination” for locals.

In Las Vegas, the concept will be completely different. “It’s not inside a shopping mall, it’s on the main street of the city.” “The audience is different – ​​they are tourists who come and go (…), so we will program the activities a little differently,” he explained to me.

In response to a question from Agence France-Presse about the cost of these projects, she told me that she did not have “accurate numbers,” but stressed that it was “a huge capital investment, whether in the physical infrastructure or in developing scenarios.”
