Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky admitted today, Tuesday (11/10/2025), that the situation is still difficult for the Ukrainian forces on the Pokrovsk and Zaporizhia fronts, while he reported that the conditions of his forces in the city of Kubyansk had improved after his army achieved “positive results” there.
“Our main focus now is on the Pokrovsk region and the Zaporizhzhya region, where the Russians are increasing the number and scale of attacks,” Zelensky wrote on social media after speaking with his army commander Oleksandr Sirsky.
Favorable conditions for the Russians
The Ukrainian president added that one of the reasons for the complexity of matters for Ukraine in Pokrvosk (east) and Zaporizhya (south) is the deterioration of weather conditions, which “encourages attacks” by the Russians.
Russia has made infiltrating small groups of soldiers through Ukrainian lines one of its preferred tactics for territorial gains in recent months. Fog and rain make it difficult for Ukrainian drones and soldiers to detect these groups.
Zelensky briefly referred to what is happening in the city of Kubyansk in the eastern region of Kharkiv, where the Russians have entered the city, as in Pokrovsk, and fighting is taking place. In both municipalities, Russia claims it is on the verge of surrounding Ukrainian units.
