Yes, the Nintendo Switch 2 is backwards compatible with the Nintendo Switch, but there are still some games from the 2017 console that don’t work properly on the new Big N hybrid.
As the months went by, after working in depth with each developer, nintendo was able add more backwards compatible games from your previous consoleenjoying each new Switch 2 update.
The last surprise was Nier Automata: The End of Yorha Edition, the excellent port of Yoko Taro’s game, which already runs smoothly on the Nintendo Switch 2 through backwards compatibility.

This is Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, the latest version of the sequel to Chrono Triggerwhich launched on Nintendo Switch (also PS4, Xbox One and PC) in April 2022.

Another JRPG from Square Enix is now compatible with Switch 2
Since its launch on June 5, the Nintendo Switch 2 has offered physical and digital backwards compatibility with Switch games, but it is not successful in all cases.
One of the titles that presented compatibility errors was Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Editionspecifically when starting the game and also with some technical defects.

At least Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is now fully functional on Nintendo Switch 2, as well as Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
