In the early hours of November 28th to 29th, Geoff Keighley set all the alarm bells ringing publishing a cryptic tweet, with the message ”regal.inspiring.thick”, accompanied by an image.
The photo shows what appears to be an ancient pillar with different representations, from a crocodile to several skeletons, without forgetting armor, demons and other creatures.
Since Half-Life 3 or Fallout: New Vegas 2 (by the desert theme) for The Elder Scrolls 6 (the crocodile looks like the Daedroth from Oblivion), or even the supposed Egyptian god of war. Players went crazy with a thousand theories.
As always, we recommend keeping your feet on the ground, as we already have an “approximation” of what this image could mean.
Windows Central insider Jez Corden suggests the image is a teaser for the new Diablo IV expansion following Vessel of Hatred, but also, could imply a major revolution for the action RPG.
”Yes, but also something else” said Corden, in response to a fan who asked if the image was a teaser for what’s to come in Diablo 4.
Diablo 4 prepares its second DLC and more changes for the Game Awards
Will Diablo 4 become a free-to-play game to compete with Path of Exile 2? Is there a Nintendo Switch 2 port on the way? In the early hours of December 11th to 12th we will know…
What is clear is that the image published by Geoff Keighley Could have a simpler solution than many expect. It’s best not to get too excited.
The reveal of The Elder Scrolls VI seems unlikely, as the game is still a long way off. Regarding Half-Life 3, there are many rumors circulating about the return of Gordon Freeman, now even more so after the announcement of the Steam Machine.
There are also rumors that the next God of War is an Egyptian-themed game, which, in principle, should have been announced at the last State of Play. AND difficult (but not impossible) to appear at the Game Awards.
If Corden bets on the second expansion of Diablo 4will have to be given more credibility than fandom theories. Also, let’s remember that it’s been over a year since Vessel of Hatred.
But, What does this “something else” mean? Some comment that Blizzard’s action RPG could come to Nintendo Switch 2and even though I would adopt a new free “game as a service” model.
We’ll have to be patient, as the mystery behind this image will only be revealed on the night of December 11th to 12th, when Geoff Keighley reveals the best games of 2025 and new announcements at The Game Awards.
