Just because a game is heavily criticized by the press and users doesn’t mean it has bad sales, even if its commercial performance is below expectations. Let them tell Call of Duty Black Ops 7.
Treyarch’s title broke a negative record for the Activision saga in Japan and its sales are 50% lower than those of Black Ops 6 in 2024, but that didn’t stop it from being number 1 on the PS Store.
If in October Battlefield 6 and Ghost of Yotei were the most downloaded games on the PlayStation digital store, now Call of Duty came first in the top downloads of November.
Black Ops 7 leads PS5 downloads in Europe and North America, while Red Dead Redemption 2 was the most popular on PS4 in both territories. In the PS VR2 category there were no surprises either.
However, in Europe, Battlefield REDSEC (the equivalent of COD Warzone in the EA saga) was most downloaded free-to-play titleswith Where Winds Meet as number 1 in the United States.
