Create in Dreams the sequel to Banjo & Kazooie that Rare and Microsoft deny us, and it’s so good it almost looks like an official game

Was a platform game legend in the late 90s, along with Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, but was forgotten after Microsoft purchased Rare in 2003.

Banjo-Kazooie is the living history of video games, from its first edition for the Nintendo 64, through the sequel Banjo-Tooie, to its last main game, Potholes and Cachibaches, in 2008.

Every day, fans of the bear and the bird ask Microsoft to resurrect the Rare saga, forgotten for almost 20 years, so a fan of the franchise decided he wasn’t going to wait any longer.

Using the editing tools of Dreams, a Media Molecule game for PS5 and PS4, a former developer at Moon Studios (creators of Ori) made their big dream come true: here we have a new Banjo-Kazooie game.

It’s called Banjo-Kazooie: Mumbomaniaand now you can play on PS5 and PS4 if you have Dreams in your library. If this is not the case, the game is also available on PS Plus Extra and Premium.

It’s not an official game, but it’s so good that it almost looks like the real sequel to Banjo-Tooie, so you might want to wait a while to try it out if you’re a fan of the Rare saga.

Banjo-Kazooie Mumbomania is the dream return of a historical saga

Eupholace, former Moon Studios designer and creator of Trip’s Voyage on Dreams, confirms that Banjo-Kazooie: Mumbomania can now be downloaded on Dreams, both on PS5 and PS4.

History tells us that Mumbo, for some strange reason, lost his bodySo Banjo and Kazooie embark on a new adventure to get their friend back… fully.

Fortunately, Mumbo (or rather, what’s left of him) accompanies us throughout the adventure, giving us advice and starring in some dialogues.

Despite not being an official game, the truth is that the title created by Eupholace (with the help of PieceofCraft, duckenomics and The Game Brass) practically It looks like another installment of the saga.

Banjo is now a more robust character (seems to have spent some time at the gym), and He behaves more like Crash.but each of the scenarios has the essence of the Rare franchise.

The only way to play is through Dreams on PS5 and PS4, but we’ve already warned you that it’s totally worth it. Who knows, maybe this will help Microsoft and Rare consider resurrecting the bear and the bird.

Things like Banjo-Kazooie: Mumbomania show us that sometimes, fandom can do much more than a company or professional studio. Another recent example is the game Futurama, based on The Simpsons: Hit & Run.
