As 2025 closes, the game of the year awards arriveand Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 aims to be the big winner. Without going any further, it swept the latest edition of the Golden Joystick Awards.
The Game Awards is the next big event, where Sandfall Interactive’s game could break prize records; among them, Best Actor.
But even though three Expedition 33 actors are up for this award, They would rather share credit with motion capture professionals. Therefore, they ask for a special application at the TGA.

Expedition 33 Actors Ask TGA for Motion Capture Representation
Four of the Clair Obscur actors requested, via Video Games Chronicle, that The Game Awards includes an award for motion capture.
In fact, the order was initiated by Charlie Cox. The actor is nominated for Best Actor at the TGAand despite feeling grateful, he believes that the credit should be shared with the actor who brought Gustave to life.
“Maxence Cazorla is an incredible actor and did the motion capture for Gustave. Any nominations or credit he receives is largely due to him”stated Cox on the matter.
At VGC, Jennifer English, Shayla Nyx, Devora Wilde and Aliona Baranova join this request. “They should have their own award, but how to do it has not yet been determined”explains Baranova.
The actress adds that “We’ve been doing motion capture for decades, then someone else records the voice and that work disappears. Nobody remembers them.”.
For the expert, this disregard is due to the fact that not enough attention is paid to the process to create character animations and movements.
Baranova knows what he’s talking about, because was motion capture director in Baldur’s Gate 3, where he met English, Nyx and Wilde.
“With a specific prize, studios would have to show the recording process; something they don’t usually do to avoid giving details of how their games are made”, adds the actress.
But the demands of this group do not stop there. They also ask for Geoff Keighley awards to add a specific category for supporting actors.
