When Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered was released, the remastering of these games made one thing clear: The adventures of Kain and Raziel continue to have countless fans.

Or so we believed. Information related to the latest layoffs at Eidos Montreal reveals that They were working on restarting the saga.

Eidos Montreal cancels Legacy of Kain reboot
Reddit raised the alarm about the latest layoffs at Eidos Montreal, and Former employees have already posted their resumes on LinkedIn.
When CVs for a Design Director and Principal Designer are released, The projects the developer was working on were made public. All of them cancelled, unfortunately.
One of these games was a dark fantasy action RPGwith an emphasis on hand-to-hand combat and parkour.
From that description, it could be another title; but the CV makes it clear what game it would be: “a project that aims to revive a well-known vampire intellectual property”.
Eidos’ only vampire license is Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver. It is undeniable that the franchise would have a new beginning, of which we heard nothing until the moment of its disappearance.
Just like the one suffered by Raziel himself, a curse accompanies the Legacy of Kain saga. None of the attempts to revive him were successful.and there are already several cancellations.
If we take into account that Even more layoffs expected at Eidos Montrealand which will become a support studio, it is completely unlikely that they will resurrect any of their projects.
