Notice of repudiation
Taken by the deepest indignation, Ceará Sporting vehemently rejects the racial insult suffered by the athlete Moisés, from the under-15 category of the do Povo team, during the final of the Seromo Super Cup.
At the end of the penalty shootout between Ceará and Fortaleza, Moisés was called a “monkey” by an opposing athlete, unacceptable conduct in any environment of our society and which hurts everyone and makes us angry while evoking the idea that we have failed as a society.
Aware of its social role, Ceará SC abhors any discriminatory act and emphasizes that it will take appropriate measures in this case, submitting a notice of infringement to the Sports Justice Court (TJD-CE).
The Popular Team expresses its unreserved support for Moisés, making itself available to the athlete so that the consequences of this episode are minimized as quickly as possible.
According to the black and white club, the insults came from a player from Fortaleza. Moisés was reportedly called a “monkey” shortly after the end of the match, which defined the title of the national youth competition.
Ceará denied what happened, called the conduct unacceptable and said it did not tolerate any form of discrimination. The club also informed that it would adopt all appropriate measures and take the matter to the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) to investigate and sanction those responsible.
