To coexist with the new Avenger, the 2027 Jeep Renegade will benefit from visual changes and a 48 V mild hybrid system associated with the 1.3 turbo flex engine
The Jeep Renegade will soon have new features in Brazil. The model, which will be one of four hybrid models produced in Goiana (PE) already confirmed by Stellantis, will also receive a visual update next year to coexist with the all-new Jeep Avenger. A 2027 Jeep Renegade unit was spotted being tested by friends from Motor’s Garagem profile in Recife (PE).
Jeep Renegade will undergo its third restyling in Brazil
Launched in 2015, the Renegade has already undergone two restylings in Brazil, the last in 2022. In addition, the SUV is also, by far, the best-selling car of the American brand on the Brazilian market. While the new Jeep Avenger will occupy the role of entry-level car, the restyling of the Jeep Renegade will reposition the current model.
Changes must be timely. At the front, new headlights, a redesigned grille and bumper are expected. On the side, just new design wheels. At the rear, the lights should gain new internal elements, as well as the trunk lid. The first tests of the new Renegade should begin in the coming months.
The interior will have a similar style to that of the Jeep Compass
Inside, the new Jeep Renegade is expected to benefit from new patterns and coverings for the seats and redesigned graphics on the dashboard. Another new feature is expected to be a larger and more updated media center. Production will continue at the Goiana (PE) factory and the model will have 4×2 and 4×4 versions, as currently.
Under the hood, the new hybrid models will have the current 1.3 turbo flex engine with 176 hp and 270 Nm, which will be supported by a 48 V mild hybrid system. More advanced than the 12 V mild hybrid package in the Fiat Pulse and Fastback, the system saves fuel and also reduces emissions.
It has two electric motors, one of which acts directly on the car’s transmission, while the other replaces the alternator. Another feature is the Coasting function, which allows the car to continue driving even with the gearbox disengaged or the engine turned off.
With the e-DCT system, the Jeep Renegade would have an expected power gain of between 4 hp and 22 hp in each engine. However, unlike an automated dual-clutch transmission, the new Renegade must retain a six-speed (or nine-speed, in 4×4 versions) automatic transmission with a torque converter.
