News of his death was shared by the young man’s friends, who posted tributes on social media, including photos of him in everyday moments and in military uniform. The exact date of death has not been officially disclosed.
The young man arrived in Ukraine in August 2025, where he joined a unit made up of foreigners to support Ukrainian forces. According to information from international blogs, he participated in an initial clash and then returned to try to recover the bodies of other dead volunteers. During this mission, he was reportedly hit and died.
Tribute
The restaurant where Kauan worked also spoke out, offering its condolences to the young man’s family and friends. “In this moment of pain, we sympathize with his family, friends and all those who had the privilege of living with him, leaving him our deepest condolences,” the publication said.
The Department of International Affairs of Goiás reported that the family has not yet contacted the agency to request assistance with the transfer of the body, since, in the case of volunteers, insurance is provided for the provision of this type of service.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Brazilian embassy in kyiv, recommended in October that Brazilians avoid traveling to Ukraine, in addition to advising against staying in the country due to the risk of conflict.
