Despite the initial shock, Zezé Di Camargo said he was not sad and publicly congratulated his daughter.
Wanessa Camargo, who turns 43 this Sunday (28), saw her personal life massively followed by the media in the 2000s, the peak of her success thanks to hits like “O Amor Não Deixa” and “Tanta Saudade”. Proof of this is that even the singer’s virginity was the subject of a magazine.
Veja, in February 2003, published that Wanessa was no longer a virgin. At the time, the artist was only 20 years old. The fact is that Zezé Di Camargo, the father, still did not know the information. It was thanks to the magazine article that he discovered everything.
Despite the initial shock, Zezé accepted it without problem. In an article published at the time by the Terra portal, he said he already had strong suspicions and understood that it was “very difficult for a 20-year-old girl to remain a virgin after having been in a serious relationship for two years.” Wanessa was in a relationship with Dado Dolabella and was going on a trip with her boyfriend.
Zezé, who recently experienced controversy with SBT and was even criticized by President Lula and First Lady Janja, said he felt embarrassed asking his eldest daughter about the subject of virginity and felt that girls tend to talk more about this subject with their mothers. It was after the article reverberated that the two had a long conversation on the subject.
In Terra, Zezé praised Wanessa’s position and highlighted the firstborn’s courage in making “statements like this in a sexist country like Brazil.”
