According to Port St. Lucie Police Department spokeswoman Brittany Holly, officers were called just before 9 p.m. to respond to a “medical incident” that occurred on site. After police arrived, Emma was taken by helicopter to a local university referral hospital, but died the next day.
According to local press, police said that, so far, “there is no indication that what happened was anything other than an accident,” but they are investigating the circumstances of the episode and have informed the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the federal agency responsible for monitoring work environments.
This Tuesday, the young girl’s family published a message on a fundraising website with the aim of obtaining donations to organize a tribute to the victim on Saturday morning in a church in the town. “Our hearts are in pieces as we announce the loss of our beloved Emma,” the family wrote on the platform.

“She left us too soon in an unexpected accident while happily celebrating her sister’s birthday,” they added. At the end of the text, the family describes the child as full of faith, joy and kindness, saying that she “touched every soul she met.”
The establishment where the accident occurred, which operates an indoor trampoline park and adventure attractions including go-karts, has not yet taken a position.
