Music at Libertad Palace. On Friday at 7 p.m., the nation’s permanent ensembles will say goodbye to the year on the esplanade of the Palacio Libertad (Sarmiento 151) with more than six hundred musicians on stage. For the first time, the National Folkloric Ballet will perform on the same stage; the National Contemporary Dance Company; the National Symphony Orchestra, the National Polyphonic Choir; the Argentine National Music Orchestra; the National Children’s Choir; the National Argentine Music Choir; the National Symphonic Band for the Blind and the National Polyphonic Choir for the Blind. Free admission.
Christmas Day in the Usina del Arte. On Sunday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Usina del Arte (Agustín R. Caffarena 1) opens its doors to celebrate Christmas with music and suggestions for the whole family. Children can leave their letter to Santa and enjoy a show. Organized by the Ministry of Culture of Buenos Aires, the day features a special program available on usinadelarte.ar.
Craft exhibition. The exhibition opens tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Casa Victoria Ocampo (Rufino de Elizalde 2831). Legacies of action. Tribute to Teresa Anchorenawhich brings together more than sixty pieces from the National Arts Fund’s arts and crafts collection. Visits are possible until February 20th, Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with free admission.
Multiverse. The seventh edition of the poetry meeting will take place today at 8 p.m. at the Centro Nuestra América (Av. Perón 3390). It includes the presentation of two poets under 35, Matías Guzmán and Leónidas Castillo, by Leandro Periero, as well as the poetry collection Although nothing ever sews (editions la yunta and Editorial Cartografias), by Diego Filloy, by Alejandro Cesario and Santiago Giordano. There will also be a discussion table and a reading of poetry and music by Claudio Lomenzo.
Art to give away. Until Tuesday, the gallery presents Ruth Benzacar at its headquarters in Puerto Madero (Juana Manso 1549) Cheaper than Gurskya free-entry art fair featuring original and editioned works valued from $150,000 to $1,999,999 (2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., closed Sundays). Meanwhile, Gachi Prieto Gallery (Uriarte 1373) opens today at 6 p.m. the third edition of its summer pop-up exhibition of small-format works (until the end of February, Monday to Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.), and the Palermo Art Gallery H Tucumán 712 opens the collective exhibition on Monday at 11 a.m. 100 artworks x $100.
Read Solstice. This Saturday the event will take place at the Universo San Martín (Av. 25 de Mayo 1869, San Martín) from 2 p.m. Read Solstice. Children’s and young people’s book festivalan open and free cultural day for children, young people and adults that combines literature, oral storytelling, illustration, music and hands-on experiences. The meeting, organized by the Argentine Association of Children’s and Young People’s Literature (ALIJA), will feature authors such as Estrellita Caracol and Fernando De Vedia.
Dream alphabet. Between pillows, mattresses and music, Diego Golombek presents his new book, published by Siglo XXI, accompanied by Celeste Giardinelli, journalist and science communicator, while Juan Dellacha, the book’s illustrator, draws live.
