The president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, congratulated the economic sector of the region, “which gives us such magnificent news”, at the end of the delivery of the IX Business Merit Awards, during a ceremony held in Cabanillas del Campo (Guadalajara), … a municipality located in the Henares corridor with the highest per capita income in the region and with a residual unemployment rate.
García-Page, who said he was very proud of the winners this Tuesday afternoon, stressed that 75% of companies arriving in Castile-La Mancha “have been, are or will be in reinvestment projects“, and that says a lot, because they can come because of the location or because of the enormous recruitment that we have, but really the fact that they stay and want to reinvest is for us a proof, a certificate of regional quality”, indicated the regional president.
According to the head of the regional Executive, knowing that today “We are still breaking records and this year we are growing at the same level as the average.which was not usual in a country like ours, to grow at the same pace as the country, fortunately in a good period of growth, given that we are the region that has grown and developed the most since COVID until here, frankly it is something that fills us with collective pride, but which ultimately has protagonists, individual protagonists”, he said in reference to the ten winners who “are driven by values”.
And he stressed that Castilla-La Mancha has already left the complexes behind and is fighting for its own interests, “knowing that we are doing it in the common fund, which is Spain. We also do not rejoice in the fact that the data in Spain is going bad and that ours shines more, but we can boast of having earned it hard.”
He stressed that “we are very proud of the way things are going, but we are not going to settle”, and he announced that he would sign on Thursday an agreement with businessmen and unions by 2030, which will mobilize 15 billion in public and private investments for the economic promotion of employment. “We set shared goals and charted a path forward. Many difficulties and setbacks may arise, but ultimately, we are not alone.
Finally he added that “We are happy that this is going well for businesses. Additionally, I need you as president to make money and generate wealth.. The rest of us are already there so that this wealth can be shared, by building hospitals, roads, institutes or universities. What I am very clear about is that if the businessmen of my country do not prosper, my land cannot prosper. And we must try not to complicate life, to transmit reassuring messages,” he declared.
The Minister of Economy, Trade and Employment, Patricia Franco, explained that more than 200 companies participated in the ninth edition of the Business Merit Awards. “You are a good sample of those more than 124,000 companies and more than 150,000 independent workers who work for the growth and progress of our region,” adding that it is President García-Page who “directs the economic policy of Castilla-La Mancha and also devotes a lot of time to it in his agenda.”
Franco advanced this during this decade, Castilla La Mancha was the autonomous community that experienced the greatest growth in female employment in the industrial sector, a growth of 102%, or more than 29,000 women. “I think we still have a lot to work together to occupy these positions of decision and responsibility,” he added.
The advisor also highlighted that “Castilla La Mancha not only leads business confidence in our country, but by the end of 2024 Castilla La Mancha has led in productivity growth per hour worked. And I also notice that in the agreed times, Castilla La Mancha is one of the five autonomous communities that work the most hours compared to the agreed times. And if we are also at the head of this growth in productivity per hour worked, I believe that this is a tangible element which says how well things are being done in our companies and with your teams.
