What is the contraceptive patch?
- The contraceptive patch is a hormonal contraceptive in the form of a small patch.
- This method is applied to the skin and releases estrogen and progesterone into the bloodstream, which prevents ovulation and pregnancy.
“I thought everyone knew that contraception isn’t just to prevent pregnancy,” said one netizen on X. Another said: “You don’t need contraception, just don’t have sex.”
The young woman explained that she uses the contraceptive patch to regulate her menstrual cycle, in addition to improving symptoms associated with depression.
“I went to the gynecologist to consider using birth control because it was a point in my life where I was very depressed,” Liz explained on TikTok. “And every time I combined depression with PMS (premenstrual tension), I felt more depressed.”
