In front of a Plaza San Martín de Morón full of people, on Monday evening the winner of the first edition of Pan Dulce de Oro, the competition organized by the Centro de Industriales Panaderos del Oeste (CIPDO). Among the six finalists selected by a jury of experts, the piece created by Panadería Nemo was chosen as the best of the year. His creator, Augusto Palombi received the highest award.
The definition of the competition had raised enormous expectations. The final was originally scheduled for Sunday, but was postponed to Monday due to weather conditions. Far from discouraging the public, more than 6,000 people came to the center of Morón to witness the conclusion of this historic event for the baking industry.
Which bakery won the Golden Sweet Bread Award?
The finalists emerged from a total of 17 participants and were: El Sol de Morón, Panadería Guzzi, Las Delicias de Rodolfo, Confitería Alemana, Glasé Pastelería and Panadería Nemo.
The gala was moderated by Mariano Peluffo and a renowned jury consisting of Juan Manuel Herrera, Sergio González, Alejandro Orellana, Néstor Reggiani, Vicente Campana, Mariana Corbetta and Juan Ferrara. The general organization was in charge of the Go Show Entertainment Group, in a day that became a real celebration for the workers of the sector and for the entire community in the west of Buenos Aires.

The experts unanimously chose the sweet bread presented by Panadería Nemo as the winner. When the verdict was announced, the owner Augusto Palombi, barely 21 years old, could not contain his emotions and burst into tears.
According to the final result, second place went to Confitería Alemana; the third for Guzzi Bakery; El Sol de Morón took fourth place; the fifth went to Las Delicias de Rodolfo and the sixth to Glasé Pastelería.
Nemo’s sweet bread is no stranger to gastronomy: in 2022 it won the Argentine FITHEP Latin American Championship in the Genoese style category. When Palombi heard about the competition organized by CIPDO, he did not hesitate to take part.
The Nemo Bakery team consists of Augusto, his parents, his brother – his main support – his sister-in-law and two people who work the counter. “There are not many of us, but we are a united group that works every day to move forward,” he explained.

The sweet bread winner of the 2025 Pan Dulce de Oro is worth $40,000. It is a handmade piece by Panadería Nemo, whose price reflects the quality of the ingredients, the production process and the recognition achieved in the competition.
