A few hours before Christmas there was a deadly confrontation that led to two more violent deaths in the suburbs. On this occasion, two criminals who attempted to attack a member of the municipal police in Quilmes were killed.
This shooting took place at the intersection of General Acha and San Mauro. It all started when the Buenos Aires official, accompanied by his wife, got into his vehicle after Christmas shopping. Both motorcycle jets, which had placed their suitcases so that they would not be detected by surveillance cameras, tried to surround the couple, but the agent recognized the situation and managed to grab his service weapon to fend off the attackers.
Both criminals fell dead near the victim’s Peugeot. When the SAME from Buenos Aires arrived at the scene of the confrontation, they discovered that one of the attackers was a young woman.
Prosecutor Javier Becerra was in charge of the investigation and the death of the criminal couple is, for now, considered a case of legitimate defense.
This wasn’t a one-off episode. Clashes between Buenos Aires police and criminals occur almost daily in the suburbs. In these shootings, officers are typically assaulted while wearing their uniform and off duty. The criminals choose their prey at random, especially when trying to steal a motorcycle. However, since these cases involve an officer carrying his service weapon, the robberies involve close-range shootings. Not only did this happen in the last few hours in Quilmes, but a few days earlier a similar situation occurred in Lanús, where a 19-year-old thief was killed by a Buenos Aires police officer who was resisting the attempted theft of his vehicle.
Another confrontation with similar characteristics occurred in a suburb last November, when a retired city police officer shot down another Motochorro.
Two attackers tried to steal the retired police officer’s car in front of his home in the Morón district of Buenos Aires. The scene was filmed by a surveillance camera in the area. The officer responded and killed one of the criminals while the other managed to escape.
Vehicle theft in the suburbs is one of the most serious crimes. Thieves try to surprise drivers in their cars to make sure the engine starts. For this reason, these attacks pit armed attackers against victims. In many cases the victim died by shooting. And in other episodes they were the criminals killed. Especially if they are unknowingly confronted by a member of a security force. This situation occurred last September in Morón, where A retired Federal Police Commissioner General killed two young criminals.
The retired PFA officer was parking the vehicle outside his house last night when he was attacked by three criminals.
According to police sources, the inspector – whose identity has not been revealed – was leaving his Volkswagen Taos when he was approached by the thieves, who were driving a Toyota Corolla. One of those young men got out of the car and pointed a gun at the retired officer while the other two waited in the vehicle. Responding to the threat, the retired commissioner took the pistol he was carrying and shot at the attackers to prevent his truck from being stolen. One of the suspects fell dead.
