The couple of tourists attacked during a disturbance with traders in Porto de Galinhas, on the coast of Pernambuco, spoke out this Sunday (28/12), through a video published on social networks. Check it out:
Apparently injured in the face, personal trainer Johnny Andrade reported that he and his partner, Cleiton Zanatta, both from Mato Grosso, were attacked after questioning the amount charged for tent and chair rental during the settlement. According to them, the final value was almost double the price initially agreed.
“When we went to pay the bill, the amount charged was different, almost double. We questioned it and I said, ‘Dude, that wasn’t the amount you agreed with us.’ When I realized, it was not one or two people: there were about 10 or 15 on us, attacking us. My face was completely damaged and the whole side of my body was injured,” he said.

Responsibility of public authorities
The couple declares that they will hold public authorities responsible for this episode. “I am ordering the mayor to bear our losses. We are not going to allow this to happen cheaply. We have already contacted our lawyers and we are going to sue the city hall and the state of Pernambuco,” Johnny said.
According to him, during the confusion, the couple’s belongings went missing, but were later found with the help of the police.
The couple said they weren’t able to file a police report until a few hours later. “We left the police station around midnight. We first had to carry out all medical treatment and then record the incident.”
Fearing further attacks, they say they are confined to the hotel. “We are locked in the room, trying to anticipate our return to Mato Grosso. I hope to never set foot in this place again,” Cleiton said.
