Malaga, December 15 (EFE). – A gang allegedly dedicated to drug trafficking, particularly cocaine and MDMA (ecstasy), and supplying fuel to drug boats belonging to related gangs, has been broken up by police in Vélez-Málaga in an operation that resulted in three arrests.
During a search of a farm in the population center of Benajarafe in Vélez-Málaga, officers located a tool house that served as a base of operations on the property, police reported in a statement on Monday.
In addition to being used as a drug sales outlet, the property housed a laboratory for manipulating chemical substances – MDMA and cocaine – and was used as a warehouse for storing jugs of petrol to fuel the drug boats of related gangs.
At the same location, three spools of detonating cord and two rolls of slow fuse were confiscated, an explosive without documentation proving its possession, transfer or origin, and whose net explosive mass totaled nine kilograms.
The operation began based on information indicating drug sales at a farm in Benajarafe.
Police investigations confirmed that those interviewed frequently visited a tool shop and picked up and picked up jars of fuel and chemicals.
In the first phase, police arrested one of the main suspects along with his partner after they were surprised on board a car with 86 grams of MDMA in the spare tire.
As the investigation progressed, surveillance of the person responsible for the property increased as there was a suspicion that a laboratory for the manipulation of chemical drugs was located there.
In a second phase of the operation, investigators conducted a search of the aforementioned property, seizing the three coils of detonating cord and the two coils of slow fuse.
In addition, 194 cartridges of different calibers, a precision scale, a dismantled carbine, a silencer, two magazines, a pistol frame and barrel as well as a fake driver’s license were confiscated and the search also led to the arrest of the expert. EFE
